Investing in Volunteering Award

LDVG are pleased to report we have achieved the Investing in Volunteers Award.

Anne Hislop - Investing in Volunteers Manager for Scotland said - “Investing in Volunteers [IiV] is the UK award with a unique focus on volunteering. To become an IiV Achiever, an organisation needs to demonstrate their commitment to their volunteers and be able to evidence high quality volunteer management in practice. It needs the support of everyone from volunteers to Board members and staff. So far, more than 200 organisations, from all over Scotland, have achieved the award; from small local groups to large national organisations. Volunteer Scotland is delighted to be able to include LDVG on the list of Achievers “.

Steven Sweeney, CEO of VASLan Third Sector Interface said - “LDVG are an exemplar of best practice, leading the way in South Lanarkshire in volunteer involvement and management. LDVG have set the bar for other third sector organisations to follow; their vision for volunteering, how they plan for, include and recruit, how they support, value, and develop volunteers is an inspiration to us all which I hope many others with follow. VASLan are delighted to have been able to financially support LDVG through the Investing in Volunteers accreditation, thanks to our Valuing Volunteers initiative as a Community Planning Partnership.”

Sandra McCrory, Charity Manager said – “ We are delighted to have been successful on our external Volunteer Scotland audit which confirms that LDVG is fully compliant with current best practice in relation to how we develop, support, and manage our most vital resource, our volunteers. It is very refreshing to have such a positive objective audit result and to have achieved such a high standard in volunteer management. My thanks go to each and every LDVG volunteer, the LDVG voluntary Board of trustees, and the LDVG staff for helping us achieve such a prestigious award. A special thanks goes to Ann Nisbet, Project Coordinator for all of her hard work pulling together our portfolio. Ann works tirelessly to ensure our volunteers are managed to a very high standard which ensures they get the very best from their volunteering role with us”.
