CLDTalks Podcast

Have a listen to the CLD podcast where Connor Maxwell from CLD Talks, speaks with some of the founding members of Larkhall Covid 19 Rainbows, now known as Larkhall Community Network. On the podcast are Sandra McCrory (Larkhall & District Volunteer Group), Nancy Barr (Larkhall Christians Together), Terry Paterson (Larkhall Community Growers) and Liz Jamieson (Community Links, South Lanarkshire).
Larkhall Covid 19 Rainbows was a community response group created by organisations within the Larkhall area to support people most affected by the pandemic. Larkhall Covid 19 Rainbows supported young people, families, elderly and folks within the area through multiple mediums and then rebranded to Larkhall Community Network to become a sustainable network for years to come.

Shopping Bus Funding Success!

We are delighted to announce that Larkhall & District Volunteer Group’s Shopping Bus service has been successful in securing funding from Smarter Choices Smarter Places, which is Paths for All’s programme to increase active and sustainable travel throughout Scotland. The programme is grant-funded by Transport Scotland. Paths for All is a charity and is the champion of everyday walking in Scotland. Paths for All’s vision is for a happier, healthier Scotland where physical activity improves quality of life and wellbeing for all.

Due to this new funding, the shopping bus service for older people who live in Strutherhill & Birkenshaw will continue until Jan 2022, and we are delighted to announce that we will soon be expanding this service into Hareleeshill. Once restrictions are lifted, we will also be restarting our trips to less accessible retail parks and garden centres – so watch our social media for more info and updates!
